Today I had my free consultation at the laser hair removal center. It was just as I thought: the gift certificate winnings were a ploy to get you to come in.

While I knew these procedures were expensive, I had NO IDEA how expensive until today.

When I first got to the office they had me fill out some paperwork about my ethnicity and skin and hair type along with questions about what areas I was interested in treating.

The saleswoman brought me back into her office to show me a series of before and after photos along with some explanations of how hair follicles grow and how the procedures work.

Then, she told me that because of my ethnicity, my hair would be harder to treat. Apparently those of us with Armenian, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, or similar ethnic backgrounds hair thick, coarse hair which is harder to treat. Lucky me because I have 3 of these hard to treat ethnicities in my blood.

Then, she started talking prices. And at this point, I had to try to refrain from letting my jaw drop straight to the floor. Here are the prices I was quoted:

Underarms

$1,254.70 for 6 treatments (you get one treatment every 10-13 weeks)

Full Legs

$3,191.79 for 6 treatments (you get one treatment every 12-14 weeks)

Lower Legs

$1,637.79 for 6 treatments (you get one treatment every 12-14 weeks)

These prices are INCLUDING my $425 off for the gift card I "won" and also including a 30% discount for the month of September only.

I would LOVE to hair these procedures done, but at these prices it's not going to happen anytime soon. So, I will be transferring my gift card to my sister-in-law, since she's already doing it and has more money to spend on things like this than I do.
