How to remove facial hair permanently?

I have had excessive facial hair for about 6 years..I wanted to get laser hair removal but I've heard it doesn't work well on African American skin...Does anyone know any natural methods or anything besides laser hair removal that might work????
Permanently would definitely mean laser hair removal or electrolysis.
