laser hair removal on face
August 8, 2008 - 12:45
Is it safe to have facial hair removed by laser? I talked to someone about this and they said it was too dangerous because the laser beam can make you blind if it gets in your eyes. But I've seen all kinds of stuff about laser hair removal on the face on different websites.
How safe is it, really??

Hi EmmaJane,
The answer is yes, you can safely have laser hair removal on your face. HOWEVER, some clinics do not have the correct safety equipment or they only have lasers suitable for larger body areas, meaning they cannot offer this service.
As you rightly say, lasers can cause severe damage to the eyes, so any laser treatment on the face must be performed within stringent safety parameters, and special equipment to shield your eyes from the laser rays must be used.
