Dr Sean Lanigan is Group Medical Director and Consultant Dermatologist for sk:n As the range of and awareness for skin conditions has grown, so has Dr Lanigan's enthusiasm for the subject and he is now recognised internationally as an expert in the field of laser treatment of skin diseases. He has over 20 years of contributed research and over 140 publications under his belt. He is the author of the only European textbook on laser treatment of skin diseases entitled 'Lasers in Dermatology', published by Springer and sold worldwide. He is also Editor in Chief of 'Lasers in Medical Science,' the leading scientific medical laser journal in Europe and has received multiple citations in 'Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare', 'Who's Who in Science and Engineering' and 'Best Doctors in the UK'. Dr Lanigan’s distinguished international reputation and contribution to medicine has seen him awarded the prestigious National Clinical Excellence Bronze Award in 2004 as well as research grants in excess of £50,000. It has also lead to him being invited to lecture at national dermatology meetings in the UK as well as lecture and chair international meetings around the world. He has served on a number of scientific committees including chairing the International Affairs Committee of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and the British Skin Laser Research Group. He also acts as expert advisor to the Medical Devices Agency and the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).
